Many students who attend Blossom House School are referred for specialist support from the Arts Therapies Team (who offer Dramatherapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy and Integrative Counselling). Sessions are psychotherapeutic, creative and child-led, with a focus on supporting the child’s emotional and mental wellbeing. Students can be offered individual or small group sessions, and the work can be short or long term, ranging from one term to over a year depending on the child’s needs.
Sessions are confidential, although you will be kept informed about your child through Assessment and Annual Review reports and you are always welcome to contact the therapist working with your child to discuss their provision.
The Arts Therapies team also provides transition groups for students moving from Primary to Secondary and Secondary to Post 16, and supports the “Team Pupil” approach which is a model for pupils who have experienced developmental trauma.
All therapists in the Arts Therapies Team are qualified from recognised training courses and are registered with the HCPC or BACP.
