Access Arrangements for qualifications in Secondary
through to Post 16

Access Arrangements are part of the curriculum from Year 10 at Blossom House, ensuring pupils understand the exam support that they are entitled to. All pupils get two targeted lessons of study skills introduction when they are given their individual Access Arrangements and are supported and encouraged to use those they have been given for exams in their lessons. This exposure helps students prepare, physically and mentally, for their exams. The SpLD team also work closely with college links to ensure that access arrangements are clear and consistent for Post 16 students who are taking exams at college.

A large number of staff at Blossom House School are trained to act as invigilators, readers, scribes or LMs (Language Modifiers) during exams. We believe it is important that students are supported in their exams by familiar adults.
"Pupils make outstanding progress from their starting points, across subjects and year groups. High-quality teaching and a strong focus on pupils’ well-being ensures that pupils’ progress is consistently strong"
