The school has a multidisciplinary approach to the children’s educational, emotional, physical and sensory needs. Alongside the teachers and their assistants, we have onsite Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, a Physiotherapist and a team of Arts Psychotherapists, all working together to support pupils in the most effective way possible. We also have an onsite Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) team who work individually and in class supporting pupils across the school with literacy, numeracy and study skills, and who oversee access arrangements for pupils in key stages 4 and 5.
Our literacy and numeracy curricula enable the children to progress at their own pace to lay down solid foundations in these areas. We continue to provide highly specialised support beyond the foundation level to increase the children’s ability to cope with the demands of the other areas of the curriculum.
